Group Azoty Puławy temporarily scales down production in response to record gas prices
Due to record prices for gas, the main production feedstock of Grupa Azoty Puławy, the Puławy-based company of the Grupa Azoty Group has decided to temporarily scale down production at further units. As a consequence of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, since February 24th 2022 natural gas prices on the European exchanges have been soaring to extraordinary, historically high levels. Gas prices over the past six months have nearly quadrupled, having surged from EUR 72/MWh on February 22nd 2022 to EUR 276/MWh on August 22nd 2022.

New product line within Grupa Azoty Group’s fertilizers category
The Grupa Azoty Group is launching the Fosfarm product line – modern and environmentally-friendly NPK fertilizers providing an ample and efficient source of soil nutrients. The new line developed by the Grupa Azoty Group’s Gdańsk-based company is another step taken by the Group towards achieving the goals of the European Green Deal.

On November 13th 2020, the Supervisory Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. resolved to appoint Mr Tomasz Hinc as President of the Grupa Azoty Management Board, with effect from December 1st 2020.

Grupa Azoty Group posts stable financial results despite ongoing pandemic

The Grupa Azoty Group booked a second-quarter net profit of PLN 57m, up PLN 22m year on year. Consolidated revenue came in at PLN 2,269m in the second quarter, which is PLN 469m less than in the corresponding period of 2019. EBITDA stood at PLN 315m, with EBITDA margin at 13.9%, a year-on-year increase of PLN 29m and 3.4pp, respectively.

Grupa Azoty Group’s performance remains largely unaffected by coronavirus pandemic

In Q1 2020, the Grupa Azoty Group reported consolidated revenue of PLN 3,104m, down 7.8 % on Q1 2019, which was a record-breaking period in the Group’s history. EBITDA and the EBITDA margin were PLN 476m and 15.3% as a result of a drop in average selling prices of products and low prices of gas.
