Grupa Azoty PUŁAWY was one of the first companies in Poland to take comprehensive and planned measures aimed at protecting the environment. In 1985, the Company officially adopted and launched a Comprehensive Environmental Protection Programme for the Years 1985–2000 and Beyond. As a result, Grupa Azoty PUŁAWY is now in compliance with all legal requirements concerning approvals, emission limits and environmental impacts.

Yet the Company has not stopped at just meeting the relevant requirements. Its commitment is much stronger, as manifested in its involvement in voluntary pro-environmental initiatives.

Since 1995, Grupa Azoty PUŁAWY has been a member of the Responsible Care International Programme for the Chemical Industry. The Company publishes "Environmental Impact Reports", coordinates pro-environmental and educational initiatives, and participates in trade fairs and conferences related to environmental protection.

Grupa Azoty PUŁAWY does not only focus on business activities and new projects aimed at improving its productivity. The Company is also actively involved in international discussions on climate policy. It strives to consistently cut emissions and pursues an effective and responsible waste management policy. Grupa Azoty PUŁAWY also remembers about the youngest generation, raising their environmental awareness through such media as computer games and comic books.
