The inauguration of the 2014 Chemists’ Day did not follow the established pattern − at noon on June 6th memorial plaques commemorating the Company’s first two directors, Mieczysław Kołodziej and Jan Zdebik, were unveiled in the foyer of the Grupa Azoty Puławy executive office building. The idea was put forward by former employees who worked under the two distinguished directors. Both Mieczysław Kołodziej and Jan Zdebik made an enormous contribution to the establishment of Zakłady Azotowe Puławy, but also to the development of the town of Puławy; it is for this reason that two streets in Puławy bear their names.

“It is a great privilege for us as current members of the Company’s management team to honour the first directors of Zakłady Azotowe Puławy in this special way. They were here when the history of our Company began in the 1960s. They were two great names who had an undoubted impact on the Company as it is today,” said Marian Rybak, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Puławy S.A.
 
An official presentation of gold and silver awards to the Company’s most deserving employees began at 1:00pm in the executive conference room.
