Grupa Azoty leveraged the relationships with its fertilizer distributors across Poland, asking them to single out schools in their areas which could use such help.
Each of the 91 schools received 100 kits containing a backpack, a pencil case, a notebook, a drawing pad and a schedule, as well as a set of paints and felt-tip pens. In addition, every kit included a reflective clip, which improves visibility and safety on roads after dark.
All school materials feature four Grupa Azoty characters called Pulek, Poli, Salek and Zaksan. These loveable, funny creatures serve to remind children and adults alike that fertilizers are what Grupa Azoty is all about. A total of 91 Grupa Azoty trade partners joined the project, which ran from July to September 2014.
The support offered to 100 students in each of the 91 schools participating in the project meant an easier start into the new school year for 9,100 children.
