The purpose of the letter is to use the research potential and infrastructure of the institutes to help implement Grupa Azoty Group’s growth strategy. The cooperation will also improve chances of success in applying for co-financing of business activities (e.g. from the Innovative Development Operational Programme).

“The institutes that have joined forces with Grupa Azoty have a significant research, development and implementation potential which we must use to ensure consistent growth of the Polish industry,” said Paweł Jarczewski, President of the Grupa Azoty Management Board. “This officially declared intention to cooperate is a landmark event that will bring benefits to both Polish economy and the research industry,” he added.

As stated in the letter of intent, Grupa Azoty S.A. will engage the research institutes to perform R&D work and develop strategic plans and growth programmes. It will also finance or co-finance B+R (Business + Research) work and projects. The research institutes declared the intention to work with Grupa Azoty S.A. on preparation of applications for co-financing of R&D work and give priority to projects carried out as part of the cooperation.

The letter of intent was signed on the second day of the 2014 Polish Chemical Industry Congress, which Grupa Azoty S.A. supports as a Strategic Partner.
