PRESIDENT BRONISŁAW KOMOROWSKI VISITS GRUPA AZOTY PUŁAWY
"My visit here today is an opportunity for me to say that industrial and economic growth can and should be achieved through wise work. And it can be pursued with due regard given to sustainable development and environmental considerations" said Polish President Bronisław Komorowski during his visit to Grupa Azoty Puławy. The President was given a tour around the site where new process units are being constructed, and met with the Company's Management Board and employees.

On April 17th, President Bronisław Komorowski took a tour around a new unit that will produce Pulgran, a premium, granulated nitrogen fertilizer in the innovative form of pastilles. The unit, currently in its start-up phase, is due to commence full production soon. The Pulgran unit is part of Grupa Azoty Puławy's key project called 'New Fertilizers Complex'. The total cost of the units already commissioned under the project is close to PLN 464m."

"Innovative, intelligent fertilizers are the future of our industry. Our main focus is on identifying and satisfying the needs of our customers. With this strategy in place, the Grupa Azoty Group has been able to maintain its position as the leader on the domestic fertilizers market and the second largest producer and supplier of fertilizers in the European Union," said Marian Rybak, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe Puławy S.A.

During his visit, President Bronisław Komorowski met with employees and representatives of the Management Boards of Grupa Azoty Puławy and Grupa Azoty. "In 2014, we celebrated 25 years of democracy in Poland. These past years have witnessed a profound transformation of the agriculture and food sectors, which was captured in the ‘25 years of Polish agriculture. Food security in Europe’ report, published by the Puławy Competence Centre in November 2014 under the auspices of the President of Poland. We would like to see Polish agriculture, currently our fourth largest economic sector, not only stay strong, but also become the first most important driver of the country's growth in the next decade," said Paweł Jarczewski, President of the Grupa Azoty Management Board.

President Bronisław Komorowski and Włodzimierz Karpiński, Minister of the State Treasury, praised the Puławy plant."

"Puławy has set benchmarks for the Polish industry and right directions for future collaboration between science and industry. This commercialisation of scientific knowledge will help us maintain momentum towards a more competitive economy. I keep my fingers crossed for Puławy and the entire Grupa Azoty Group to keep growing as they are", said Włodzimierz Karpiński, Minister of the State Treasury."

After the official part of the meeting, the President took time to speak with plant employees and signed the guest book.
