The Product Stewardship Programme audit is an initiative by Fertilizers Europe, an organisation representing the largest European fertiliser producers. The audit reaffirmed that the Grupa Azoty Group’s fertiliser products comply with the highest standards. DNV auditors evaluated various parameters throughout the process, such as the benchmarks implemented during product design, technological processes, distribution, and the genuine fulfilment of fertiliser characteristics declared by the Group. The audit covered the main production facilities located in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Police, Puławy, and Tarnów.
The ORLEN Group is analysing a possible acquisition of Zakłady Azotowe Puławy owned by Grupa Azoty S.A. The companies have signed a cooperation agreement and a non-disclosure agreement enabling due diligence to start at the Puławy-based company. The merger would increase the ORLEN Group’s participation in the fertilizer sector and enhance its efficiency and competitiveness on the European market through numerous synergies. For farmers and other customers of the two companies, the merger would mean a better and broader range of fertilizer products and easier access to products in demand at a given time, achieved through enhanced production flexibility.
In view of price change on the European gas market in the last weeks of May and the demand forecasts, Grupa Azoty Group companies are raising their production levels.
Grupa Azoty Zakłady Azotowe Puławy S.A. will increase production of fertilizers and chemicals starting from June 1st 2023. From the beginning of June, the company’s output of ammonium nitrate (PULAN®), urea-ammonium nitrate solution (UAN®) and urea intended for liquid solutions (UAN® and NOXy®) will be raised by more than 100% compared with current levels. The decision was prompted by an improvement of market situation on the product demand side and in terms of raw materials
In the three months ended March 31st 2023, the Grupa Azoty Group generated consolidated revenue of PLN 3,895m, EBITDA of PLN -401m, and EBITDA margin of -10.3%. The financial results are in line with the estimates published by the Company on May 15th 2023.
Polskie Centrum Badań i Certyfikacji S.A. (PCBC) has completed a conformity assessment of the Grupa Azoty Group’s fertilizing products with the requirements set forth in Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 of the European Parliament and of the Council. Following the assessment, the Group was awarded certificates confirming that its fertilizing products meet the requirements effective in the European Union as of July 16th 2022. The certificates also confirm conformity of the Group’s manufacturing quality systems.
